We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, Te Haere ki te Rapu Pea @Rāwhiti School on Friday 24th April!

My teddy

I don't have a teddy in my window because we live down a long driveway and no one would see it but my favorite teddy is as old as me. I got it from my grandma at my first Christmas when I was 3 months old.

It looks old and it has little bits sticking out.

It feels comfortable and it feels soft when I am sleeping.

It smells like me.

It makes me feel better when I am sad and it makes me feel happy.

It doesn't make any sounds so it's good to sleep with.

  1. Kia ora Maia,
Our family has the same problem as we also live down a long drive. We have a few teddy bears in the window for the courier drivers that occasionally come to our place.
We have loved going on bear hunts around our neighbourhood and 304 bears on one walk.
Have you been on any bear hunts? If so how many have you found?
I still have my teddy bear that my aunty made me when I was a baby and my wife made teddy bears for both our children when they were born.
Thank you for sharing your story,
    Nga mihi,
    Mark

  2. Hi Maia, I love the picture of you and your teddy. He looks very well loved. Does he usually sleep on your bed every day so he's ready for snuggling each night? Special teddies are certainly good for making you feel better, aren't they. I noticed your lovely dog is having a snooze nearby, I'm sure he is loving having you all at home just now.
