NASA colouring - Summer Learning Journey

 Today I did some NASA colouring and here are some of my artworks.

I tried to make it look as similar to the real picture as much as I could.

My Holiday

Sun gleaming through the car windows, I wake up and see unusual clear water, it was like I was on an island.

My Dad lifted me into a house that looked like a mansion made out of wood. Now I had energy which was good because I was going to swim with dolphins. I got my togs on and dived into the clear coral reef, I followed the dolphins. 

The dolphins led me to an unusual, disintegrating sculpture, I fell and accidentally pulled a lever, the sculpture opened, inside it there were about a hundred sea snakes, one sea snake clutched onto me, then another and then another, soon all the sea snakes were clutched onto me and pulled me into the sculpture, the sculpture closed with me and all the sea snakes inside, my blood was drooling down me and the sea snakes kept hanging on. I was never to be seen again...

 Alyssa-rose is buying a doll set, the one she likes costs $1743.467 it is %10 off. How much would it cost Alyssa-rose to buy the doll set?

You half the 4024 it is 2012 and that's the answer!! 

6 sentence story

Once upon a time there lived a little, rose goldy, black baby fox called Star and had a little star on her back, the colour of the moon.

Star lived in a deserted forest in a abandoned cottage, one day it got raided and her parents got shot.

She has a special talent and it's that the stars lead her to food, water, safety and to things and animals/people that she needs to survive.

One day she saw a little bunny with a light patch and a fox was trying to bite her, so Star stood infront of the little bunny and scared the fox away.

She was worried that the bunny would run away, but it didn't so she asked the little bunny what it's name was, the little bunny shyly said "my name is Lite". 

Star brought her to safety and gave her food and water, they called themselves "Starlight", they found a little girl who kept them and loved Starlight like no one has ever before.

Millah

 Shall I tell you about my best friend, Millah? I guess I should, don't you reckon? Guess what, Millah can run so fast I can hardly see her, she's like a cheetah!! When I see her she reminds me of friendship, memories together and childhood. She has short, brown, straight hair and usually doesn't tie it up. You would never believe it, but me and Millah have been friends for over 10 years! Despite her being as unusual as a chimpanzee, she can be a very good friend! I've always thought that she's like a sister to me, she can be very annoying and she can be very nice. THE END!

 Today our class had kids club me, Millah and Alyssa-rose were doing netball but then we changed to photography because we liked taking photos. I thought it was so much fun. These are the photos that I took and I like most.

New Brighton Animal Shelter - Maths.

 New Brighton Animal Shelter 

Pixel goes to the New Brighton animal shelter with $600, the worker Arlo says that "there are 5 dogs and they are $150 each, 1 cat $100, 3 birds $40 each, 5 guinea pigs $20 each, 4 chickens $20 each and 5 fish $10 each.

Pixel wants to save as much animals as she can - she absolutely LOVES animals!

How much animals can she save?

The Gender Reveal Party

 The Gender Reveal Party

I am going to have a cousin!

I was very excited when I found out that I was going to have a cousin!

Uncle Richy and Elizabeth chose to have a Gender Reveal Party on the 14th August 2021, Aunty Mel made the cake, Mum brought some cupcakes and we iced them what colour we thought the baby's gender was, I wanted the baby to be a girl because I already have a boy.

Covid Test

 Covid Test

Yesterday I got a Covid 19 test because I have been feeling quite sick, I have a runny nose, a sore throat AND a cough!  

I had to wear a mask so that if I did have Covid it wouldn't spread as easy when I talked.

I also had wait in the car for the Nurse to come out because it was their lunch break.

The Nurse came out in their special uniform, It was a white gown, a mask, a visor and gloves.

The swab looked like a needle that twists as it go's up your nose and make your eyes water.

It felt weird and a little bit sore but only makes your eyes water.

The Nurse said for me to open my mouth and said it looks like I have a swollen tonsils and got the DR to put a throat swab down my throat.

The Nurse said it takes about two to three days to get the test results! That means I can't go anywhere except my property.

Mum said I was very brave, we had brought lollies and I was allowed to have some! I was extremely happy, Mum said not to tell the others.

Today we took my dogs, Pixel and Arlo for a walk around the domain because we're in level 4  we had to have the dogs on a lead, we saw lots of blossom trees with lots of monarch butterflies, my Mum took two photos of it...

I made high heels in lockdown for Children's University.  It was supposed to be newspaper shoes but we didn't have any newspaper so we decided to use paper bags. I made it out of paper bag materials and tape, it took me a long time. It was very hard to walk in them. I was going to make boots but then I decided to make high heels.

New Zealand Migration

 This report is about important and interesting moments that have all happened right here in New Zealand about one thousand years ago like Early Polynesian Navigators, Early European Settlers and The Treaty Of Waitangi.

First lets start with the Early Polynesian Navigators, Early Polynesian Navigators used star signs, the current of the waves island blocks and birds to navigate the way, when the were looking for land they were standing on a double hulled vaka. When they arrived  at New Zealand they used moa skin and moa fur as clothing and ate the moa meat so they didn't starve .

Now lets move on to The Treaty Of Waitangi, Did you know that in 1840 the treaty was signed and that over 500 Maori chiefs signed the treaty? Also there are two different types of the treaty the English version and the Maori version but they say different things!

Now lets move on to the Early European Settlers , Early European Settlers came to New Zealand and Knew the way because the Early Polynesian Navigators told them how to get to New Zealand. They brought guns, alcohol and animals to New Zealand.

Early settlers

This week I have been learning about early settlers and then we had to make a interview pretending we were an early settler. This is me and Alyssa-rose's interview/ video.

Makey Makey

We have been using Makey Makey today.I was in a group with Millah and Meah and myself Makey Makey is an invention kit. It is a really fun tool to use. First we had to see what conducts. Then we had to make a game controller and we made a flower it looked like a star but it was meant to be a flower. Once we finished it worked!!!

 Today we had to make a graph of what ever you want and I chose favourite winter sport, here is my graph.

I gathered my data by asking people in my group what they're favourite winter sport is.

My favourite season is winter because you can curl up in front of the fire with a blanket and watch movies all day long, I also like winter because sometimes when it snows and its really deep snow I like jumping in it and jumping on the trampoline, I would also sometimes making snow angels, but most of all grabing a sled and slide down in the snow.

First we had to listen to the instructor telling us how to get in safely and the places we could go. I was excited to get into the kayak and was glad we all got in safely. Then we had to start to turn the kayak around and start paddling in the places we could go. There was a parent helper and she thought I was Aaliyah. Aaliyah’s friend Lexie just broke her arm so Aaliyah was a bit emotional. I was paddling around and the parent said “It’s OK, your mum will be here soon”, even though my mum wasn’t at camp and I do not look a thing Aaliyah. She started taking photos and videos of the group. It felt weird. I didn’t want a photo or video taken so I tried to paddle away. It was hard. Then Aaliyah and her mum came on the same kayak and this parent put her hand on her head and was probably thinking OMG. Me and Millah got into the same kayak because Millah’s arms started to hurt so I did all the paddling. Me and Millah kept going side to side and singing i'm a gummy bear yeah i’m a gummy bear yeah over and over again. Going on this trip was useful because I was scared of tipping the kayak over but now I am not.

  Talent Show 

We just moved our stuff into the wharenui then we went into the whare

kai to do our talent for the talent show. We could go in buddies for the

talent show so  Millah and I went together. I was nervous because

I didn't want to get it wrong and I wanted people to laugh. Then it was

time for Millah and I to go up. We did a makeup tutorial but Millah’s

hands had to go behind her back and I was her hands, I couldn't see

either so I put makeup all over her face. Then we finished our makeup

tutorial, Millah and I asked Talei if we could wash Millah’s face with

Millah’s flannel. It stayed there for 3 days, Teri whistled.

Jessica did a dance with Emma. Alyssa-Rose and Elouise did a

Kapa-Haka dance and a handshake that they made up.

Millah and I did a second one and it was a Te rakau thing that

we made up. Isla and Skyla did a dance. A lot of other people did

jokes like Rocky and Cylis. I really enjoyed it, it was fun. I think

everyone enjoyed it.

My new kitten

My new kitten has no name. He is 8 weeks old. When he is tired he loves having cuddles. He is grey and white. He loves playing with his toy which is a stick with a star at the end. He likes climbing. He snuggles with his toy monkey which is like 5x him. He is very good because he pees and poos in his litter box. He has met my puppy Mika and Mika was bouncing around him. And hit him in the head and then he hissed and hit her. He likes going under couches. He is scared of dogs. But he had a dog at the place that he was with his mum. He has blue eyes.

 Children's University -Bubble Catching Experiment

I did a bubble catching experiment.

The hypothesis was you can catch a bubble if you have soapy hands.

First I tried catching a bubble without soapy hands and the bubbles popped on my hand.

Then I tried with soapy hands and I caught loads of bubbles. You can catch bubbles with soapy hands but you can't without soapy hands. The more bubbles you get, the bigger the first bubble gets that was on your hand. Another bubble blends in with it.

I also learnt don't put bubble mixture in your eyes! Cos my older brother did!
